Having a go at making ice cream

Posted on 30th Nov 2016

Recently I've been making my own cycling flapjack so when I saw 600ml cartons of double cream for 10p each, it was too good to pass on. I quickly decided to make ice cream. The recipe.....  basically you whip 4 egg yolks and 2 full eggs then add 1 cup of castor sugar until its like really thick custard. Add to this 600ml of whipped double cream and then fold in whatever flavourings you want. I made rum and raisin with one batch and prune and ginger with the other. You then stick it in the freezer and the rest you can guess. Its so cold at the moment it could probably take some cycling without it melting! The egg whites weren't wasted; I used them to make meringues
